Birdie is the voice agent that updates HubSpot while you talk. This guide walks through installing the app, authorizing the connection, and getting your pipeline loaded. Start to finish, about five minutes.
Before you start, you'll need
A HubSpot account with permission to install marketplace apps (Super Admin, or an admin who has granted you app-install access)
The Chirp app on iOS (iPhone), since Birdie is currently an iOS voice experience
A Google or Apple account to sign in to Chirp
Microphone access enabled for the app when prompted
1
Install Birdie from the HubSpot Marketplace
From your HubSpot account, open the App Marketplace, search for Chirp, and select Install app. HubSpot will show you the permissions Birdie is requesting before anything connects.
2
Review and authorize the connection
HubSpot's authorization screen lists what Birdie can read and write. In plain terms, Birdie asks for access to:
Deals, so it can read and update stage, amount, close date, and next steps
Contacts & companies, so it can log notes and match who you're talking about
Tasks, so it can create and complete follow-ups
Select Connect app to confirm. You can revoke this at any time from HubSpot's Connected Apps settings.
3
Open Chirp and sign in
Open the Chirp app on your iPhone and sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple. Use the same email your HubSpot admin used to install the app, so Birdie can match your account to the right portal.
4
Grant microphone & speech access
iOS will ask for microphone and speech-recognition permission the first time you tap Start Conversation. Both are required, because Birdie has nothing to transcribe without them. You can review or change this later in iOS Settings → Chirp.
5
Let Birdie load your pipeline
Once you're connected, Birdie confirms it out loud and on-screen: “Connected! Importing your deals now…” Behind the scenes it's pulling your open pipeline plus the last 12 months of closed deals, along with your actual pipeline stage names, so when you say “move it to Proposal,” Birdie already knows what “Proposal” means in your portal.
This takes roughly one to two minutes for most pipelines. You'll hear “Done: [X] active deals loaded. Ready.” when it's finished.
Good to know
Bigger pipelines (500+ open deals) may take a little longer on the first sync. You don't need to keep the app open. Birdie will notify you when it's ready.
6
Start talking
That's it. No fields to map, no templates to configure. Tap Start Conversation and talk like you're briefing a colleague after a call.
You say
“Just got off the phone with Acme. They confirmed budget, pushing close to end of month, next step is a contract review Thursday.”
Birdie does
Updates the Acme deal's close date and stage, logs a call note, and creates a follow-up task for Thursday, all in HubSpot, before you've put your phone down.
