How Chirp works
What happens to what you say, from the moment you speak to the moment it lands in your CRM.
The short version
- You talk to Birdie in a session.
- Birdie shows each deal, contact, company or task you mention as a tile on screen, with any changes you made.
- When the session ends, those changes become pending changes.
- You review them on Home and tap Push. Only then do they reach your CRM.
Sessions
A session is one voice conversation with Birdie. You start one from Home, from a meeting on your calendar, or from a record's page. See Start a session.
Each back-and-forth inside a session is a turn: you say something, Birdie answers. You can mix things freely in one session, for example debrief a meeting, ask about another deal, then add a task.
Tiles
A tile is a live card for one record: a deal, contact, company or task. Tiles appear on the rail while you talk, newest first.
- When you name a record, Birdie puts its tile up so you can see it is the right one.
- When you change something, the tile shows the change straight away, marked UPDATED.
- A record that is not in your CRM yet shows NEW, and settles into NOT ON FILE once Birdie has checked.
The tile you watched is exactly what gets saved. If you take a tile off ("take that off", "none of those"), its changes are cancelled too.
What Birdie reads
Birdie answers from what you have connected:
Birdie keeps a synced copy of your CRM so it can answer quickly. A change made in your CRM a minute ago may not have reached Birdie yet. If Birdie says something that disagrees with your CRM, tell it; it will believe you.
From session to CRM
Birdie never writes to your CRM while you are talking. When the session ends:
- Your changes are saved as pending changes and appear on Home as one card per session, with one row per record.
- You can edit a row, untick it, or discard it.
- Push sends the ticked rows to your CRM.
If something needs your call before it can be pushed, such as a record that may already exist in your CRM, the row asks you. See Review and push.
:::note The one exception: tasks in HubSpot If you use HubSpot, Birdie asks once per session whether to put your tasks in HubSpot as you go. If you say yes, new tasks from that session go to HubSpot automatically when the session ends. Everything else still waits for your push. :::
No CRM? No problem
Without a CRM, Birdie keeps your records in Chirp. Home reminds you that updates are waiting to sync. If you do not use a CRM at all, tell Chirp I don't use a CRM and the push button becomes Send it somewhere, which shares your notes wherever you keep them.
