Birdie is the voice agent that keeps your CRM up to date while you talk. This guide covers connecting Attio from the Chirp app, what Birdie imports from Attio and writes back, how you review every change before it's sent, and how to disconnect.
Before you start, you'll need
An Attio account with access to the workspace you want to connect
The Chirp app on iOS (iPhone), signed in with your Google or Apple account. Attio is connected from the app, not from Attio.
Chirp works with one CRM at a time. If you've already connected HubSpot, connecting Attio replaces it (see step 3).
Connect Attio from the Chirp app
1
Open Connectors
On the Chirp home screen, tap Connect tools in the top right. You can also tap your profile picture to open Settings, then choose Manage connectors under Integrations.
2
Find Attio and tap Connect
Filter by CRM or search for Attio, then tap Connect on the Attio card.
3
Confirm the switch if you use another CRM
If another CRM is already connected, Chirp asks Switch to Attio? Your records stay in the old CRM; only Chirp's connection to it is removed. Any changes you haven't pushed to the old CRM yet are discarded, and Chirp tells you how many before you confirm. Tap Switch to Attio to continue.
4
Sign in to Attio and approve access
Chirp opens Attio's secure sign-in page. Sign in, pick your workspace, and approve the access Birdie asks for (each permission is explained under Permissions Chirp requests). You're then taken back to the Chirp app and see Attio connected.
5
Let Birdie import your Attio data
The home screen shows Importing your CRM while Birdie pulls in your companies, people, and deals, along with your deal stages and notes from the last 12 months. When it's done you'll see All [X] records are in.
Good to know
You can start talking to Birdie while the import runs. Any change you make to a record that hasn't arrived yet is queued and pushed once the import finishes.
What Birdie imports and writes
Birdie keeps a private copy of your Attio records so it knows your deals before your first call. After the first import, Attio notifies Chirp when records change, so that copy stays current. Birdie only ever writes to Attio when you push a change yourself (see below).
Create people. Update name, email, phone, and job title.
Deals
Name, value and currency, stage, close date, source, probability, tags, won/lost reason, description, owner, linked people and companies
Create deals (you are set as owner). Update name, value, and stage. Link deals to people and companies.
Notes
Notes from the last 12 months on your companies, people, and deals
Add a note to a company, person, or deal.
Tasks
Your tasks, so Birdie knows what follow-ups are open
Not written. Birdie does not create, complete, or edit Attio tasks.
Meetings
Not imported
Not written
Workspace members
Names of members, so Birdie can show and assign record owners
Not written
Birdie doesn't touch Attio lists, custom attributes, calls, or emails. A few fields are imported but can't be written back yet: deal close date, company website and industry, and mobile phone. Birdie marks those as Can't push so you know to update them in Attio directly.
Permissions Chirp requests
Chirp asks Attio for the smallest set of permissions these features need. Chirp doesn't change your workspace configuration, and it doesn't access lists, comments, meetings, call recordings, or files.

Webhooks

How you review updates before they reach Attio
Nothing is sent to Attio automatically. Everything Birdie picks up from a conversation, and every edit you make in the app, waits as a pending change until you push it.
Review. After a session, a card on the home screen lists each record Birdie wants to update, for example “I picked up 3 records from your session. Ready to push them to Attio?” New records are marked New.
Choose. Untick any record you don't want to send. Tap Edit to open Edit before push, where you can correct values or take out individual changes, or tap Discard to drop a record entirely.
Push. Tap Push to send what's left. You'll see Pushed to Attio when it lands.
Birdie also checks before it overwrites anything or creates duplicates:
If the record changed in Attio since Birdie last saw it, you choose Use mine or Keep Attio's.
If a matching record may already exist in Attio, Birdie asks whether to use it or Create a new one.
If Attio rejects a change, it's marked Failed with Attio's reason, and you can edit it, retry, or discard it.
Disconnect Attio
1
Open Connectors
Tap Connect tools on the home screen, or go to Settings → Manage connectors.
2
Tap Disconnect on the Attio card
If you have changes you haven't pushed yet, Chirp asks Disconnect Attio? and tells you how many will be discarded. Tap Disconnect to confirm, or Keep Attio to cancel. You'll see Attio disconnected when it's done.
When you disconnect:
Birdie stops reading from and writing to Attio straight away.
Chirp deletes its copy of your Attio data, including imported records, notes, and any unpushed changes.
Nothing in Attio is changed or removed. Anything Birdie already pushed stays exactly as it is.
Things you've asked Birdie to remember about you are kept, so you can connect a CRM again later without starting over.
Disconnecting in Chirp removes the connection on Chirp's side. To also remove Chirp's authorization from your workspace, revoke it in your Attio workspace settings.
